Story
Hello, I am Scot Stoner’s mother-in-law, and I am setting up this page on Scot and Haley’s behalf. Scot went to the ER in the early hours of May 8th with chest and stomach pain, thinking he was having a gallbladder attack. Sadly, they quickly learned he was very sick and had been diagnosed with end-stage liver failure/cirrhosis. He was fortunate to go to the hospital when he did. He has been in three hospitals over the past three weeks and has a long road ahead. He was stabilized at Methodist, transferred to Baylor St. Luke’s, where he was assigned a liver team and underwent significant tests to be presented to the board for a liver transplant. He was then transferred to Katy Rehabilitation Hospital, where he has been receiving OT and PT for strengthening to be able to have this much-needed transplant. In the past three weeks, he’s lost over 20lbs, had to build strength back up to be able to talk, feed himself, and walk. He’s fighting hard to get strong and be able to go home while he waits for a transplant. Many friends and family have been asking how they can help, which is why I created this page. A donation will help with medical bills and expenses, as they are adding up quickly and will continue for some time. Thank you for all the prayers, well wishes, and visits. I know Scot is feeling the love, and he needs all the positive vibes he can get. We appreciate all of you helping Scot and Haley on this difficult road.
